Sarah Davis, PhD, RCC
Founder, Registered Clinical Counsellor
When I started my PhD in Educational Psychology, I had been working in K-16 education as a teacher and counsellor for ten years, and I saw the myriad ways that mental health interacted with learning.

My PhD dissertation attempted to answer the question -- if we teach students how to learn better, does that also improve their mental health?
Now, post-PhD, I bring this knowledge and experience to working with grad students to help them learn better in grad school.

I love sharing my knowledge about learning strategies for grad students, especially self-regulated learning strategies.
I was learning about self-regulating my learning during grad school (and wrote a dissertation about it) and think it is so valuable for grad students.

However, I realized that there is very little information out there that brings evidence-based learning strategies to grad students so I decided to create it myself!

I know that grad students need access to information and affordable solutions to help navigate the challenges of grad school and that is why I share valuable information through How To Grad School.

I also work as a clinical counsellor in BC with students of all ages, and especially enjoy working with graduate students to help them build resilience in the unique context of grad school.

I believe in the power of learning to transform lives, and I'm on a mission to support student success.
Lizz Alexander, PhD
I am passionate about learning and student success. I love to learn, and I love helping others to learn and achieve their goals.
However, I am also keenly aware of the challenges associated with learning in an academic setting. Despite having a love for learning, I encountered many of my own challenges while in school as far back as I can remember right through to grad school.
The path to eventually earning my PhD was certainly rocky, with a few twists and turns, but I'm proud of what I accomplished. And now I'm on a mission to help as many other students as possible who may be struggling or looking for some extra support to boost their progress.
